Leadership Presentation
The purpose of this memo is to discuss how I have learned from my leadership position in the portfolio discussion board. After leading other students in conversation, I was able to observe the differences in the way things can be interpreted. Students were looking at the online portfolios and noticing different aspects that they liked and disliked. Many of these points different from what I had observed.
This opportunity will help my writing because it showed me how clear I need to be. Specifically, I learned to, “acknowledge your and others’ range of linguistic differences as resources, and draw on those resources to develop rhetorical sensibility.”
Going forward, I know that I must pay attention to my audience and make sure that everything that I write is clear and understandable. In text it is very easy to misinterpret and this discussion board showed me that if I want people to fully understand what I am writing, I need to be careful and pay attention to who they are and what they’re background is.
